Working in a support role

Group Executive Members

Good governance is key to ensuring that young people, and the adults who work with them, have access to the very best resources. The role of the Group Executive is akin to that of School Governors as they are responsible for ensuring that property is properly maintained; that the finances of the group are sound and ultimately that the programme being delivered in each section is exciting; vibrant and meets the aspirations of its target age group. Those holding the position of Chairman; Treasurer and Secretary are deemed to be Trustees. All members of a Group executive require an Enhanced DBS (at no cost to the applicant) and there is a short one day training programme to support you carry out these responsibilities. Whilst most Group Executive members are parents it is always useful to have people on the Executive who are not formally linked to the scout group.

Vacancies currently exist in BrentrySea Mills; Cotham; Shirehampton; Westbury on Trym and in the city centre for our outreach group at the Children’s Hospital.

Handyman.

The 44th Bristol who meet at Henlease are looking for someone to take on stewardship of their scout hut, undertaking small repairs and generally keeping the hut and grounds in a good state of upkeep.
